What is Involved in a Teeth Whitening Treatment?

Seattle Teeth Whitening TreatmentBriteSmile™ In-Office Teeth Whitening
This non-invasive in-office whitening treatment typically takes an hour or less to complete. The treatment begins with applying a gentle yet effective whitening gel to the teeth in order to accelerate the whitening process. (This whitening gel is pH balanced, so it is compatible with your tooth enamel.) The dentist will then shine a blue light onto the teeth for 20 minutes; the wavelength of the blue light (which is neither heated nor ultraviolet) will activate the bleaching ingredients in the gel. More gel is applied to the teeth, along with the blue light, up to four times or until the desired degree of whitening is achieved. The treatment causes no discomfort or stress to the patient, so they can relax and even read or listen to music as they wait to see their dramatically whiter, yet natural-looking smile!

Take-Home Teeth Whitening Kits
For patients who prefer a more gradual teeth whitening, or who want to have immediate access to an effective and safe teeth whitening treatment within the comfort of their own home, Drs. Jayne and Kois offer custom take-home whitening kits. We customize these kits, made by the leading professional dental brands, by providing a whitening gel that works for your needs as a patient, and is based on your oral health history, tooth sensitivity and any existing dental work.

The take-home whitening kit consists of a mouth guard filled with a small amount of whitening gel. The mouth guard fits snuggly and comfortably into the mouth and over both rows of teeth, and can be easily worn a few hours a day or even overnight for the duration of the treatment (which is usually about two weeks). During this time, you will see your smile gradually getting brighter and brighter.
